Be glad you avoided structural damage. Skin heals a heck of a lot faster than tendons and ligaments!<br /><br />This reminds me of a nasty fall I took at Deer Creek Canyon in July 2011. I tripped on a rock and fell forward and went about 10 feet down the side of the trail. I sustained a majorly nasty scrape and my knee was stiff for months. I actually thought I'd torn my ACL for a while there, but the injury was never so bad that I couldn't run.
